AHS WINS HONORS at 2017 OREGON STATE THESPIAN FESTIVAL

What a wonderful educational experience! In 4 days we experience 3 main stage shows, 2 dances, 25 one-acts, 100 workshops, and state  acting and technical competitions. 30 AHS actor and techs attended the annual festival of 2,000 strong (63 troupes)  in Salem, Oregon. Special thanks to Candice Chapman and Doug Ham who assisted Mrs. Bishop as chaperones. Please congratulate these worthy students.

AHS Troupe #4630 awarded to only 2 other schools for our 10-minute presentation, 40-page proof book and power point about our activities and the spotlight projects: AHS Theatre’s Outreach Projects:

*Project Up  performing at Winter Fine Arts Festival with AHS actors

ALL STATE SHOW 

for the entire festival  on last day: Only 3  troupe members could audition, and these 3 were chosen to be among 50

who rehearsed 6 hours during the conference for a finale show. This is a first for Oregon Thespians.

All three performed solo songs and choral speaking roles in a show themed “START NOW.”

AHS Grace Pruitt and Zoe Lishinsky with another student sang the finale number  “I WILL RISE UP.”  Beautiful! Wow.
